Mediation organization: Nansen Dialogue Centre in Skopje (NDC Skopje) (*)
NDC Skopje is non-governmental, non-profit and non-partisan organization working on the field of inter-ethnic dialogue and peaceful resolution of conflicts. NDC Skopje empowers people who live in conflict situations to contribute to peaceful conflict transformation and democratic development with promotion of human rights through applying the ideas and skills of dialogue. It provides a neutral and open space where the different actors in a serious conflict can meet face to face in truthful and honest communication. The aim is to break down enemy images, as well as to increase understanding of each other’s positions, interests and needs. Facilitators and lecturers try to stimulate the cognitive analysis of the conflict itself and the experience of “the other’s” position.  The focus is on how to build respect for democratic principles, human rights and peaceful conflict resolution.
Explicitly, NDC Skopje activities are bound to create settings for promoting values of peace and wellbeing, for ethnically, religiously and gender diverse community, promote and foster equality between men and women, as well as raise awareness for commitment to non-violent social changes.
NDC Skopje envisions building community in which key values for individuals will be acceptance and ownership of diverse community.

NDC Skopje mediation work (*)
NDC Skopje primarily uses dialogue as a main tool to create safe space and invite actors to openly discuss and communicate. From the current experience in a project that NDC Skopje is undertaking for more than a year in education process, school mediation is a type of mediation NDC Skopje is principally interested in.
Namely, FYRO-Macedonia is a region that has entered in the phase of the decentralization process, where there is a transfer of competencies from central to a local/ municipal level. This process is still in the early phase, very vital which requires good management. One of the major issues FYRO-Macedonia struggles with is its polarized education system. The current system does not offer models cultivating principles of multiethnic society. It contributes to an isolation of ethnic groups, and increases the gap of miscommunication, mutual understanding and acceptance of the differences.
There are many causes still sustaining this problem. Namely, the government institutions and agencies dealing with education yet struggle with strategies and enhancement of the quality of the education in all aspects.
