The Nansen Dialogue Centre-Montenegro (NDCMN) is a non-governmental, non-profit, autonomous organisation, that started its multiple programme activities in May 2000, when it was registered according to the Law on Non-Government Organisations of the Republic of Montenegro. The mission of NDC lies in promoting dialogue as the founding principle and the main formula upon which are to be based various forms of relating amongst individuals and groups of different ethnic and political background, both at the local and regional level, aiming at prevention and peaceful conflict resolution, advancement of interethnic dialogue and peace processes in the region and setting standards for a democratic society by respecting human rights and freedom.

The aim of NDCMN activities is to activate, relate to and involve all individuals in Montenegro. It is important to consider people independently of their national, political, professional background, gender, religious or beliefs and age. NDCMN seeks to involve all those who can identify, in the mission and programmes of NDCMN, their personal interest and possibility of personal growth, but who can potentially act as active participants at all levels in the process of positive transformation of the Montenegrin society. In the first three years, the programmes of NDCMN involved more than 900 citizens of Montenegro.

As mostly working in the field of conflict prevention, political and interethnic dialogue, employees of local authorities, members of political parties, teachers, distinguished persons in multiethnic communities etc. are parts of the target group. The work can be described as a combination of peace mediation and community mediation.
